If you're a blogger, you want people to read your blog. But how do you make your blog stand out in a sea of millions of other blogs? How do you write a blog that people will actually choose to read?
Here are invaluable tips just for y'all who need to learn the tricks:
1. Write on a topic that you're passionate about.
2. Write in your own voice – don't try to imitate someone else's style.
3. Be concise and to the point.
4. Use images, infographics, and videos to break up your text and make your blog more visually appealing.
5. Use social media to promote your blog and get more people reading it.
Follow these tips and you'll be well on your way to writing a blog that people will actually choose to read!
Is starting a blog a smart idea?
yes.
Ignore the "create business" and "monetize" elements for now.
Blogging is a great way to build your writing skills, dive deeper into a topic, master the basics of website maintenance and SEO, and perhaps most importantly, inspire mental clarity.
Blogging can help you learn at least five skills.
1. Improve your writing - Most people struggle with their writing skills. Commit to blogging and keep blogging for at least 6-8 months and your writing will do well. Writing a blog post is a rewarding skill that can be honed with practice, and the added pressure of getting it published.
2. No matter how passionate you are about a particular topic, there will be days (or weeks) when you just don't feel like writing. This is where blogging habits and consistency come into play. You should read more articles and stay on top of the latest topics so you can get ideas for new entries.
3. Teaches you how to run a website. When you publish a blog post, no matter what platform you use, Wix, Squarespace, Wordpress, etc. Backend website maintenance and its SEO basics, possibly HTML and social media marketing need to learn.
4. Create a Portfolio. Ultimately, the material for your blog is yours. Publisher or Platform has no right to change or remove any search criteria. This is especially true when it comes to social media marketing, which is difficult to succeed once the owner decides to close.
You can use your blog to communicate your ideas, (hopefully) gain more followers, or create original content at your own pace and on your own terms.
5. Improve your analytical skills:
Writing a blog post requires you to organize your thoughts clearly, write compelling sentences, and edit hard. These are skills that extend beyond just writing to other ways of thinking and analyzing. That's why I think you should start a blog. Play with it and stick with it. You will be amazed at what you have achieved in one year.
There are more things which blogging can help you with which I'll be covering in the next upcoming posts.
Thank you for your time. Hope you learned something or cleared your doubts. God bless.
